Meet the Doctor
Dr. Byun believes dentistry is about more than treating teeth—it’s about understanding people. Over the course of his career, he has developed a thoughtful and patient-centered approach that focuses on careful diagnosis, clear communication, and long-term oral health.
After earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California San Francisco, Dr. Byun has continued advanced training in areas such as Invisalign®, dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, and sleep apnea treatment. He enjoys building lasting relationships with his patients and helping them feel comfortable and confident in their care.

Rincon Dental is one of the most professional and competent dental practices in San Francisco. I have been a patient since 2000 and I can’t say enough good things about the doctors - first Opper now Byun - and the amazing team of hygienists and staff. There have been a few instances where I have needed extra care and Dr. Byun always takes the extra time to make sure that my teeth are in the best place they can be. Rincon Dental was there for me when I needed urgent services - I emailed them on Saturday, they responded on Sunday to set up an appointment Tuesday, and the follow up was Friday. Thank you for being so flexible to schedule me so quickly, and for helping me when I needed urgent dental care. On top of that, the care was excellent.
